Professor Chris Lewis
Professor Chris Lewis has 45 years’ experience in aviation turbine fuels and is recognised as a world class expert on the subject. Chris worked at Rolls-Royce, where he had corporate responsibility for turbine fuels and later established his own independent consultancy. He has supported Sheffield in important programmes on areas such as fuel test and methodology research and development, fuel performance prediction and novel fuel evaluation.

Matthew Jee
Matthew Jee is the Programme Manager for the UK SAF Clearing House. Reporting to the Director, Matthew is responsible for the development and day to day operational delivery of the programme. Matthew Jee has 15 years’ experience in managing engineering projects and programmes across multiple sectors, including aviation, Ministry of Defence, manufacturing and research.
Melissa Ayres
Melissa Ayres is a chartered accountant with over 30 years' experience spanning audit, industry and subsequently at the University. Melissa leads the centre’s Professional Services team, including Finance and Commercial activities, Operations and Technical and Business Development. For the UK SAF Clearing House, Melissa oversees the financial monitoring function and the commercial partnership aspects of the programme.
Jemma Howland
Jemma has over 26 years’ experience in project management specialising in grant management. Jemma provides support and advice on key requirements of the UK SAF Clearing House grants scheme, leading on the development of processes and developing clear guidance to support applicants. Jemma will oversee the Monitoring Officers who will assess applicants progress against reports and data returns.
Andrew Ure
Andrew provides advice on policy and technical aspects in relation to the UK SAF Clearing House grant scheme to the Ricardo team. He has a background in feedstocks and conversion processes for low carbon fuels.
Kate Thompson
Kate provides project coordination support for the UK SAF Clearing House grant scheme to the Ricardo team. With a sound knowledge of all elements of project delivery and programme administration, Kate has been responsible for key tasks in projects that support UK SAF plants, low carbon fuels and transport safety.
